Refunds
Overview
Finmo enables businesses to issue full or partial refunds efficiently across various payment methods, including cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets. Refunds are processed through the same payment channel as the original transaction, wherever possible.
Refunds help maintain customer trust and are critical for handling cancellations, service failures, or post-payment adjustments.
How Refunds Work
- A refund request is initiated via API or Dashboard.
- Finmo attempts to return funds through the original payment method.
- Refund timelines depend on the payment network and method (typically T+2 to T+7 working days).
- If a refund cannot be completed automatically (due to method limitations), manual action may be required.

Information
Refunds can only be initiated against COMPLETED transactions. Attempting to refund a PENDING or FAILED transaction will result in an error.
